Ailand Systems
Ukrainian maker of autonomous demining and mine-detection drones; its Spiner UAV is the first quadcopter to receive NATO codification for ground-mine detection.
Ailand Systems is a Kyiv, Ukraine-based (with a secondary office in Tallinn, Estonia) developer of autonomous drones for humanitarian demining and mine-detection, founded in 2023 by CEO Dmytro Titov, a former combat engineer/sapper whose team previously built VR software before pivoting to demining after Russia's 2022 invasion. Its flagship Spiner UAV (formerly "ST1") combines a multispectral camera for surface detection with a dual-coil metal detector for subsurface detection down to roughly 15cm, plus 360-degree lidar and AI-assisted autonomous flight; in 2025 it became the first quadcopter to receive an official NATO stock number for ground-mine detection, alongside a second codified product, Raptor. Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has tested and approved the systems, which have been deployed to community sappers for active demining. The company has raised backing from Uklon co-founders' Nezlamni fund ($200,000, July 2024), Ukraine's Brave1 state grant cluster, Google for Startups Ukraine, and is listed as a D3 (D3 VC) portfolio company.
