1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Defense Tech Atlas, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Defense Tech Atlas provides a curated, cross-linked index of the defense technology ecosystem — including companies, founders, funds, contracts, and programs — with sourced citations and cap table data. The service is provided on a subscription basis for certain features, with limited free access to the public index.

3. Accounts & Registration

You must create an account to access paid features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate, current information and update it as needed.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis as described on the pricing page. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on the agreed schedule. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data without prior written permission.
• Attempt to access, probe, or connect to computing systems without authorisation.
• Share your account credentials or grant access to non-subscribers.
• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

6. Intellectual Property

The Defense Tech Atlas website, including its selection, coordination, and arrangement of data, its design, and its original content, is protected by copyright and database maker rights. Unless expressly stated, nothing in these terms grants you a license to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the service. Individual data points sourced from public records may be used in accordance with their original licensing terms.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Defense Tech Atlas is an editorial data compilation provided for informational purposes only. All data is aggregated from publicly available sources and may contain errors or omissions. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Defense Tech Atlas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, without prejudice to any legal remedies. Upon termination, your access to paid features will cease immediately. Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations accrued before the termination date.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the French courts.
