Bollinger Shipyards

The largest privately-owned shipbuilder in the US, operating 11 shipyards in South Louisiana; builds the Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutter and Polar Security Cutter for the Coast Guard. One of TOTE Services' LSM VCM subcontractors.

Founded in 1946 by Donald G. Bollinger as a machine shop on Bayou Lafourche, Louisiana, the company remains family-led through three generations — Donald G. Bollinger (1946-1989), his son Donald T. "Boysie" Bollinger (CEO 1985-2014), and current President/CEO Ben Bordelon (since 2014). Bollinger won its first US government contract in 1984 (13 Island Class cutters for the Coast Guard) and has since built more than 180 Coast Guard cutters, including 63 Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutters, plus Navy patrol boats since 1991. It expanded in 2021 by acquiring Gulf Island Fabrication's Houma, Louisiana facilities, adding Towing, Salvage and Rescue Ship (T-ATS) and Regional Class Research Vessel work. Bollinger now operates 14 shipyard and support facilities across Louisiana and Mississippi and has built more than 3,800 vessels in total.
