EDGE Group is a state-owned Abu Dhabi-based advanced technology and defense conglomerate formed in November 2019 by merging more than 25 Emirati defense and technology firms (from Emirates Defence Industries Company, Emirates Advanced Investments Group, and Tawazun Holding) under founding CEO Faisal Al Bannai. Organized around five focus areas — platforms and systems, missiles and weapons, cyber defense, electronic warfare and intelligence, and mission support — EDGE employs roughly 12,000 people and exports to 30+ countries. In August 2026 the group posted flight test footage of its JERNAS-M unmanned surveillance aircraft, built on the airframe of the Velocity kit aircraft, capable of 20-hour surveillance flights or 12 hours carrying a 280kg payload.
