On September 10, 2025, Australia's Minister for Defence announced a A$1.7B (~US$1.12B) program-of-record award to Anduril Australia to produce a fleet of Ghost Shark extra-large autonomous undersea vehicles for the Royal Australian Navy, converting a 2022 prototype effort — three vehicles delivered ahead of schedule and on budget under an earlier ~A$140M co-development contract — directly into production within three years. Ghost Shark is designed for stealthy, long-range ISR and strike missions on an all-electric powertrain capable of long-duration missions without surfacing. Anduril opened a dedicated Ghost Shark manufacturing facility in Sydney roughly seven weeks after the award and delivered the first production Ghost Shark to the Royal Australian Navy in November 2025.
