Brimstone 2 Capability Sustainment Programme (CSP)
£400M UK MOD contract for new-build Brimstone 2 air-to-surface missiles for RAF Typhoon, extending to future Protector RPAS/AH-64E Apache.
The Capability Sustainment Programme replaced all earlier Brimstone variants with an upgraded Brimstone 2 featuring a dual-mode SAL/millimetric-wave seeker, enhanced autopilot, an insensitive-munition-compliant rocket motor and warhead, and updated memory/processing to future-proof the missile and create a common stockpile usable across fast jets, attack helicopters, and remotely piloted air systems. It extended the UK's Brimstone inventory and service life beyond 2030 and created around 130 new jobs while sustaining hundreds more across MBDA's Stevenage and Bolton sites and its UK supply chain.
