DefendAir anti-drone missile system
BAAINBw contract for MBDA to develop and produce the DefendAir anti-drone missile system at its Schrobenhausen facility.
DefendAir (formerly the Small Anti-Drone Missile / SADM) adds a lightweight booster and active RF seeker to MBDA's Enforcer missile to counter drones in all weather. It will arm the Rheinmetall Skyranger 30 air-defence vehicle under Germany's Short- and Very Short-Range Protection (NNbS) programme, with large-scale production planned at MBDA's Schrobenhausen site and fielding targeted by the end of the decade.
