Greg Gottesman spent nearly 20 years as one of Madrona Venture Group's three initial Managing Directors before co-founding Seattle startup studio Pioneer Square Labs (PSL) in 2015. While at Madrona, his idea for a pet-sitting marketplace sparked Rover.com at a 2011 Seattle Startup Weekend; he co-founded Rover, served as its first CEO and a longtime board member, and saw Blackstone acquire it for $2.3 billion in a 2024 deal. Earlier he was an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. At PSL he is Managing Director, sits on several portfolio company boards, and has taught entrepreneurship as adjunct faculty at the University of Washington.
