Ilyas Khan
Founded Cambridge Quantum Computing in 2014; became founding CEO of Quantinuum after its 2021 merger with Honeywell Quantum Solutions, now serving as Vice Chairman and Chief Product Officer. Also a director of Cambridge Quantum Holdings Ltd (with Waseem Shiraz), the entity holding Quantinuum's Cambridge Quantum-side shares, and a Leader in Residence at Cambridge Judge Business School.
Ilyas Khan trained as a merchant banker, starting at J. Henry Schroder Wagg & Co. in London before twenty years (1989-2009) in Hong Kong with Citigroup and Nomura, and founding Stanhill Capital Partners in 1998, a natural-resources merchant bank where he remains senior partner. He retired from banking before founding Cambridge Quantum Computing in 2014. Khan holds a BA (Hons) in South Asian Studies from SOAS, University of London, and is a Fellow of St Edmund's College, Cambridge; he was made a Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great by Pope Francis in 2015. Beyond Quantinuum, he chairs the Stephen Hawking Foundation and Fortaegis Technologies (a quantum-resistant semiconductor company), was a two-term chairman of Leonard Cheshire Disability, founded the Topos Institute, and advises Firgun Ventures. He also founded the Asia Literary Review and owns Accrington Stanley F.C.
