Jaanus Tamm
Founder and CEO of DefSecIntel Solutions. Serial entrepreneur with over two decades in ICT, security, and defense; previously co-founded Defendec (battery-powered border-surveillance cameras) and Marduk. Inspired to enter the defense-tech space after observing the 2008 Russo-Georgian War. Sits on the boards of the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association and Defence Estonia Cluster, co-founded the Estonian Founders Society, and won EY World Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 (Estonia).
Tamm founded DefSecIntel in 2018 after exiting Defendec, which had moved away from the defense sector; he stayed focused on border-security tech, developing a mobile surveillance concept towed by a vehicle with an integrated drone station, backed by angel investors and an early prototype grant from Estonia's Ministry of Defence. Since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, he has redirected DefSecIntel toward frontline defense use, field-testing systems with soldiers, and in 2025 leads its (anti-)DroneWall initiative to shield the EU/NATO eastern flank from hostile drones. He chairs Marduk Technologies, an AI-powered counter-drone platform, and remains a co-founder and Supervisory Board member of Defendec. He has also served on the Board of the Estonian Defence Industry Association since 2017 and is a Fund Committee Member at Prototron Fund and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol.
