Marc Ewenz
CTO and co-founder of Hypersonica. Holds an Oxford PhD; company incubated via TUM Venture Labs.
Marc Ewenz Rocher (known as Marc Ewenz in press) holds a PhD from Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, where his research applied infrared thermography to measure heat transfer on porous materials in hypersonic flow -- groundwork for hypersonic thermal-protection challenges. He earned an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London, with an exchange year at the National University of Singapore, and interned at AUDI AG, JFDI.Asia/Bosch, and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). In December 2023 he co-founded Hypersonica with fellow Oxford PhD Philipp Kerth (CEO), incubated by TUM Venture Labs in Munich, to build Europe's first privately funded sovereign hypersonic strike capability. As CTO he leads the technical work behind its hypersonic missile program; the Scooter HS-1 prototype flew at Andoya Space, Norway in February 2026, exceeding Mach 6 over 300km. Hypersonica has since raised a EUR23.3 million Series A led by Plural, with SPRIND, General Catalyst, and 201 Ventures participating.
