Matt Golden started Golden Ventures in 2011 as one of the earliest micro venture capital funds, backing early-stage founders. He previously led deals at BlackBerry Partners Fund — serving on the boards of SocialDeck (acquired by Google) and Nexage, and sourcing the Transpera investment (acquired by Tremor Media) — and at Brightspark Ventures. From 2001-2008 he co-founded Tira Wireless, a mobile games publisher, as SVP of sales and business/corporate development. He began his career practicing law at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt. He holds a joint Law/MBA from the University of Ottawa and a BA in Economics from York University.
