Estonian tech entrepreneur and operator-investor; longtime Skype executive who ran its Tallinn R&D hub, co-founded and sold relocation startup Teleport, and co-founded VC firm fund:plural (2022).
Sten Tamkivi is an Estonian tech entrepreneur and investor. He spent over eight years at Skype (2005-2013) as General Manager of its Tallinn R&D office, growing it from about 50 to 450 people through eBay's and Microsoft's acquisitions of the company. After Skype he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Andreessen Horowitz and Stanford GSB, earning an MS as a Sloan Fellow. In 2014 he co-founded relocation platform Teleport with Silver Keskkula, acquired by MOVE Guides (later Topia) in 2017, where he became Chief Product Officer. He is an active angel investor, sits on the council of Estonia's e-Residency program, and in 2022 co-founded European VC firm Plural with Ian Hogarth, Khaled Helioui, and Taavet Hinrikus.
