Will Bruey is Co-Founder and CEO of Varda Space Industries, the El Segundo-based company manufacturing pharmaceuticals in microgravity aboard reentry-capable spacecraft, which he co-founded in 2020 with Delian Asparouhov (Founders Fund) and Daniel Marshall. Bruey holds a BS in Engineering Physics (2011) and an MEng in Systems Engineering (2012), both from Cornell University. Before Varda, he worked at Space Systems/Loral as an electrical systems engineer, then spent roughly six years at SpaceX (2012-2018) as a hardware development and lead avionics engineer on the Falcon 9 and Dragon programs, operating mission control on eight ISS resupply missions. After leaving SpaceX he co-founded engineering consultancy Second Order Effects before joining Varda.
