Saturn Five
Venture capital firm; participated in Venus Aerospace's seed (2021) and Series A (2022) rounds.
Saturn Five was founded in 2017 by Max Anderson and Evan Loomis as a venture/startup-studio concept; its early-stage venture vehicle (the Saturn Five Alpha Fund) made seed (2021) and Series A (2022) investments in Venus Aerospace. Within months of founding, the firm pivoted toward acquiring and operating cash-flowing small businesses (starting with a Denver concrete-paving company in Dec 2017), and this small-business private-equity model — not venture investing — has become its primary business, per its own annual letters. Its remaining venture-style activity, including the strategy that produced the Venus Aerospace bets, was later spun out into an independent firm, Overmatch, led by co-founder Evan Loomis; Anderson continues to lead Saturn Five's private-equity business today.
