IRIS² (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite) is the EU's new secure satellite constellation of over 290 satellites in multi-orbit configuration. With a total cost of €10.6 billion over 12 years, it will provide sovereign secure communication services for EU governments, complementing the GOVSATCOM component, and is developed by the SpaceRISE consortium led by SES, Eutelsat and Hispasat.
