Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems
Annual NATO/Portuguese Navy exercise testing maritime unmanned systems and rapid environmental assessment; Flai has supported the Rapid Environment Assessment team in 2024 and 2025.
REPMUS (Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems) is an annual exercise organized by the Portuguese Navy in partnership with NATO and the European Defence Agency, testing unmanned systems in real-world conditions. The 2025 edition (15th, 1–26 September 2025, waters off Lisbon/Tróia and Sesimbra) was combined for the first time with NATO's Dynamic Messenger exercise, drawing over 2,000 participants from 22 NATO nations plus 13 observer nations and testing roughly 300 uncrewed platforms across sea, air, and land domains. Flai supported the Rapid Environment Assessment team in 2024 and 2025, contributing port mapping, bathymetry, and green-LiDAR naval-mine detection.
